One of the most promising computing platforms for wireless networking is the
personal digital assistant (PDA, including handheld and palm size devices.) In this
meeting we intend to concentrate on interface and application issues associated
with these platforms. We will be inviting key vendors to participate and to present
information in this area including Compaq, Microsoft and Palm.

In addition, we will be following up on ongoing PCCA efforts, including
wireless extensions to NDIS, sending AT commands to wireless modems via
IP protocols and our ongoing wireless interoperability workshops.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22,  GPRS INTEROPERABILITY WORKSHOP

The day prior to the PCCA meeting, the PCCA and MDI-ng will hold a joint
interoperability workshop using the AT&T GPRS  network. People interested in this

Shuttle Express. 800-487-7433 in WA or 206 622-1424. From SeaTac airport:
guests can dial 48 at the information center in baggage claim to arrange for
transportation. From Bellevue Fairfield Inn: Shuttle Express departs for SeaTac
airport at 10 minute before each hour beginning at 4:50 am and ending at 10:50 pm.
Advance reservation is required two hours prior to departure. Credit cards are
accepted. Cost for first adult is $18.00. Second adult $10.00. Additional adults $6.00.

Parking. The hotel provides complimentary parking for all guests.

August is a very popular month in the Seattle area.  Some hotels are already
showing full capacity. Attendees need to book early.
